U2 producer wants Simon Cowell's sloppy seconds

Steve Lillywhite, who has produced albums by U2, says he wants to replace Simon Cowell as a judge on American Idol.
Cowell announced earlier this year that he planned to step down from the hit talent show after the current series.
Now Lillywhite wants to step into his shoes and reckons he could help America find the next Elvis Presley.
The British producer is so eager to take on the role that he's posted a video online reaching out to fans of the show:
