The Runaways rock 'n' roll biopic will get a UK release in late August, and hopefully an Irish release will follow close by. The film, which centres on the formation and turbulent career of Cherie Currie and Joan Jett's all-girl group in the '70s, and stars Kirsten Stewart and Dakota Fanning.

Whip It, new film directed by Drew Barrymore, staring Ellen Page (Juno) as Bliss, a rebellious Texas teen who throws in her small town beauty pageant crown for the rowdy world of roller derby. Opens nationwide on 7th April. I've been a rollerskating girl for many a year now and can be often spotted up and down the lovely cycle lane outside Phantom Towers. Check out the trailer above.
Soundtrack is pretty excellent too:

Ok so it was released in January, but I've only just had the chance to have a really good listen to Falling Down a Mountain by Tindersticks. Fantastic stuff, though I won't comment further on Peanuts. Just because it has Mary Margaret O'Hara singing on it...
